Some veterinarians have expressed concern over reviewing and signing off on isolation plans for licensed PA kennels. The concern is they will somehow be held responsible for making sure it’s followed. Please know, that is not the case. Kennel owners alone are responsible for obtaining and following the isolation plan signed by their veterinarian. The veterinarian signing these will never be held accountable for making sure it’s followed. |
Dogs Entering Pennsylvania From Other Countries
The Rabies vaccinations given in other countries may not be acceptable in the USA. The Rabies vaccine used before transport must appear in an approved Rabies vaccine list in the most recent addition of the Rabies Compendium in order to be acceptable here. Here is the ink for the Compendia NASPHVRabiesCompendium.pdf. If the vaccine used doesn’t appear in the Compendium, the dog must be vaccinated by a veterinarian for Rabies here as soon as possible with an US Rabies vaccine.
