19 Apr Statement on Illegal Practice of Veterinary Medicine

The Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) is dedicated to advancing animal health and welfare and protecting and enhancing human health.
In recent days, the PVMA has been implicated in the press for instigating the arrest of 2 individuals accused of practicing veterinary medicine without a license. Some reporters cite a blog post from February 21, 2020. It describes PVMA members’ frustration with the 2 individuals continuing to practice veterinary medicine without a license while under two separate cease and desist orders. One was from 2010, the other, 2018. As a result of members’ frustrations, the PVMA filed a new complaint on February 20, 2020. It requested that the State Board refer the case to Commonwealth Court for contempt charges.
