Presented to a PVMA Member for outstanding service in veterinary medicine within the year in which the award is given.
Presented to a PVMA Member who has shown excellence and leadership in the field of practice management.
Presented to a PVMA Member Industry Partner for steadfast commitment to the association and the veterinary profession.
Presented to a PVMA Member for outstanding public service involving the veterinary community.
Recognizes a PVMA Member who has demonstrated outstanding compassion and/or developed programs for the welfare of animals.
Presented to a PVMA Member for selfless dedication to veterinary medicine, the health and welfare of animals, and the betterment of the veterinary profession over a period of years.
Presented to a PVMA Member veterinarian or veterinary student who has shown dedicated leadership in legislative advocacy at the state or federal level.

Each year, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association presents the Dr. A. Wayne Mountan Memorial Media Award to the news media of Pennsylvania for excellence in communicating veterinary medical contributions to animal and public health to the public within the last 5 years. Media includes, Newspapers, Magazines, Radio, Television, Blogging, Social media, etc. Please submit a link or pdfs to media projects for the committee to review.
The Leadership in One Health Award is presented to someone who advocates and champions the One Health initiative, and collaborates partnerships that span from both human and animal health. The One Health Initiative is a movement to forge co-equal, all-inclusive collaborations between physicians, osteopathic physicians, veterinarians, dentists, nurses and other scientific-health and environmentally related disciplines.
Recipients since the award’s creation have included the canine members of a search and rescue team from Ground Zero, an explosive detection canine, an off-duty police canine who saved his family from serious harm during a tornado, dogs who saved their family from a coyote attack, a Berks County Sheriff K-9, and four therapy dogs.
