Sponsors & Exhibitors
There are many ways to get involved with PVMA through conferences and events. You can make connections while helping to educate and support Pennsylvania's veterinary profession.
PVMA and Specialty Practices
How can the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association help support you?
PVMA offers choices to specialty practices on how we can best serve you. Here are some of the ways:
Writing For PVMA
Have something to say? Write for us!
We encourage our members to contribute their writing for the education of our members and the pet loving public. Know of a new technique, drug or medical procedure? Want to share a new service making a difference at your practice? Let us know!
Committee and Taskforce Involvement
Being a member of our committees and taskforces allows you help shape the direction of PVMA according to what's most important to you. Our committees influence our advocacy efforts, print and electronic communications, continuing education offerings, and more.
If you're really serious about shaping PVMA's future, consider running for an open seat on the Board of Trustees. The state's counties are divided into eight districts.
Board meetings are generally held four times a year with two in-person meetings and two meetings held via phone conference. If you are interested in considering a board position, contact Executive Director Jennifer Keeler, CAE.
PVMA acts as the watchdog of the veterinary profession in Pennsylvania. No one represents the veterinary profession's interests in Harrisburg as well as we do on the issues affecting veterinary practice and the welfare of animals.
Join us! Join PVMA on legislative visits, get in touch with your legislator, or write a letter. We want to be the go-to resource for the legislature on issues affecting our profession.
Public Outreach Opportunities
Get the word out about veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania. One way to get kids thinking about pet and human health, or even pursuing a veterinary education, is to speak to them in person. Classroom visits, school assemblies, or even talking to kids in your practice can have a great impact on children. Here are some ways to interact with kids:
PVMA Hall of Fame Awards
Know a colleague deserving of special recognition? Nominate them for PVMA award!
Nominations are especially meaningful coming from those working in the industry, so view our awards categories and make a nomination for an exceptional colleague. Categories include lifetime achievement, veterinarian of the year, distinguished veterinary service, and more.
Animal Care PA, formerly known as the Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation, is the charitable arm of PVMA. Its mission is to help caring people help animals by bridging the gap through animal welfare initiatives. This complex mission can be summed up in three words: FEED, CARE, EDUCATE. Animal Care PA’s FEED program called Henry’s Helping Paws, provides food to pets of senior citizens, with the goal of keeping pets and their owners together. The CARE plan, The Last Chance (TLC) Program, provides tender loving care grants to companion animals in need when their owners have limited financial means to pay for their care. Finally, the EDUCATE program helps to decrease the financial burden that plagues veterinary students by offering scholarships to Pennsylvania students who are attending accredited veterinary schools.
