Topic: COAST (Canine Osteoarthritis Scoring Tool)

One out of five dogs over 1 year of age is affected by osteoarthritis (OA). This is the number one cause of chronic pain in this population. We will briefly review OA and then present the Canine OsteoArthritis Staging Tool (COAST). COAST is a standardized grading system for OA in dogs and we will focus on the benefits of treating early in the course of disease.
